By Mariale Hardiman.  This former inner-city principal co-founded and directs the Neuro-Education Initiative (NEI) at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. This book gives teachers research-based strategies for improving student achievement.

Research-Based Strategies to Ignite Student Learning: Insights from a Neurologist and Classroom Teacher  
By Judy Willis.  This neurologist turned classroom teacher (really!) has written numerous books and articles adapting brain research to teaching strategies. This book is the most concise. 


Welcome to Your Child's Brain
by Sandra Aamodt & Sam Wang.  These neuroscientists wrote this book specifically for parents, but it's great for educators as well.  It's comprehensive, informative and very readable.

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success  
By Carol Dweck.  This Stanford psychologist reveals her research regarding the growth or fixed mindset of children and how it effects their academic accomplishments.  


The Brain-Compatible Classroom 
By Laura Erlauer.  How to construct a classroom and learning environment that works best with the way the brain functions.
